and healing what’s hurting Black America.

 

Friday, July 15, 2011

Allen Temple Baptist Church, 8500 “A” Street in Oakland

6:00 p.m. – 9:00pm

The community is invited to join NCMM founder Susan L. Taylor, mastermind Randall Robinson, who will share strategies for self-renewal and community reclamation; and Dr. Joy DeGruy, renowned author of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome, who will present her illuminating analysis.

 

OBAC will also conduct a special recognition ceremony to honor Oakland ministers

 

Saturday, July 16th

Preservation Park’s Nile Hall, 660-13th St, Oakland

9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m

Randall Robinson and Dr. DeGruy will be joined by:

  • Social Change Entrepreneur and Minister Greg Hodge
  • Alameda County Chief of Probation David Muhammad
  • Reverend Andriette Earl, founder of Heart and Soul Center of Light
  • Spiritual activist and organizer Dereca Blackmon, and
  • other strong voices for health and social justice

 

The day’s programming will also include the transformative ANWF “Brother and Sister” Healing Circles as a key part of the consciousness-changing training.

 

Sunday, July 17th

“We CARE: A Day of Action”, a call to recruit 150 new mentors

Outreach will be conducted during Sunday services at various faith-based centers in Oakland churches throughout Oakland

 

Oakland Bay Area Cares is sponsoring a “Day of Action,” and partnering with Oakland pastors to make history and recruit 150 of their parishioners to mentor in collaboration with CARES in one of the Bay Area youth-serving organizations in desperate need for Black mentors.
