As I’m sure you’re aware styles never really change, they just get recycled. The last time peplums made a big splash was in the 1980s (they also made a brief appearance in 2009). I loved the look then, and I’m liking the updated look now.
Peplum is a short overskirt or ruffle attached at the waistline of a jacket, blouse, or dress. Its modern debut was in the 1940s as a way to accentuate the waistline (and hide the hips!).
Designers are again bringing this classic style back with a 21st century flare.
