Gabrielle Douglas Makes History & Takes Home Gold on Olympic Stage

Gabrielle Douglas, a 16-year-old from Virginia Beach,became the first black woman to win the all-around gold medal for women’s gymnastics at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Douglas earned her second Olympic gold medal and became the first African-American Olympics all-around gold medalist by slaying the competition with her, high-flying aerial tricks on the uneven bars, killing it on the balance beam display and a tumbling romp on the floor exercise mat.

Katherine Jackson’s Guardianship Rights Reinstated for Paris, Prince & Blanket

A California judge has restored guardianship to Katherine Jackson and said that their cousin, Tito Joseph Jackson, will remain as temporary co-guardian.

According to the Associated Press, Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff said during a hearing that an investigator who looked into the children’s care found that the late pop star’s 82-year-old mother was an excellent guardian and the children love her very much.

“I think the kids are in terrific hands,” the judge said. “It appears from the report that Katherine Jackson has done a wonderful job and cares about the children very much.”

La Toya Jackson is about to get some face time with her own reality show courtesy of Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network. You would think that after watching your family air their dirty laundry in public over a will and custody battle, now may may not be the time to sign up for a reality show!

The 56 year-old Jackson will have the cameras following her as she documents her day-to-day activities, various business ventures and her relationship with her family- whatever that is.
