As Fashion Week in New York came to a close on Thursday, the hottest trend seen around town was leather leggings.
Although leather leggings made a big debut last fall, just about everyone was wearing them for Fashion Week, and I can see why. They’re pliable, soft and just plain fun to wear!
If you love skinny jeans, you’ll love leather leggings (synthetic or real leather).
They’re hot with fur
Or pair them with a leather jacket
Are you ready…
It’s that time of year again — time for Fashion Week in New York! Fashion Week opened Wednesday night with the celebrity Heart Truth Red Dress fashion show, and all the ladies looked fabulous!
Heart Truth has been a part of New York Fashion Week since 2003 and highlights celebrity models wearing red dresses to raise awareness about heart disease in women.
Sponsored by The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, this yearly event brings attention to the number one killer of American women, heart disease. Although women between 40 and 60 are…
Jason Wu for Target finally launched! How did the mass retailer do? While a Missoni-level disaster was averted, we do have some things to discuss.
The collection went live on Target’s websiteat 12:00 a.m. Sunday, despite no official announcement from Target.
Good luck snagging this poplin dress in navy ($39.99) from Target, which is already selling out of the Jason Wu for Target collection.
As of Monday morning,…
Motorcycle jackets are hot for spring! Not your traditional black leather jacket, but this season’s jacket has a sexy updated look for spring.
You don’t need to own a hog to look cool. Pair a biker jacket with a dress instead of a blazer to spice up your outfit.
Ladies, get ready. You too can say you’re wearing a dress designed by the same person who designed Michelle’s Obama’s inauguration gown — Jason Wu.
Wu will be launching a collection at Target on Feb. 5. The 53-piece collection includes dresses, handbags and scarves — each piece under $60. Here’s a sample of some of his collection (courtesy of Glamzonsblog.com).
But you’d better hurry as the collection will only be available until March 6 or until supplies last. Don’t forget to mark your calendar.
Did you watch the Golden Globes last Sunday? No doubt you were not only interested in who would win awards for best picture, actor and actress, but also who wore the best fashions.
Here’s a sample of some of my favs:
And some of my least favorites:
As I’m sure you’re aware styles never really change, they just get recycled. The last time peplums made a big splash was in the 1980s (they also made a brief appearance in 2009). I loved the look then, and I’m liking the updated look now.
Peplum is a short overskirt or ruffle attached at the waistline of a jacket, blouse, or dress. Its modern debut was in the 1940s as a way to accentuate the waistline (and hide the hips!).
Designers are again bringing this classic style back with a 21st century flare.

Although color blocking has been around for awhile, it’s still a trend for 2012. Mixing bright spring colors together can be fun!
Color blocking is combining two or more different colors that complement each other in a single outfit. Those who are matchy-matchy may have a hard time with this trend, but take a look at some samples below:
You don’t have to go out and buy new clothes to get in on this trend. Use the color wheel below to combine colors of separates that are already in your closet, and put them together.
A staple in every woman’s wardrobe should be the Little Black Dress (LBD). The party season is winding down but if you have plans this weekend and don’t know what to wear, check your closet for a LBD.
The LBD is a timeless, classic piece you can wear for years to come. Here are five ways to update your LBD:
1. Make it Pop with Leopard Pumps
2. Add Some Polka Dot Tights (See: I’m Seeing Dots)
3. Make it Stand Out — Brooch It
I had a great trip to Manila, Philippines this past November. My previous visit was in 1993 but was a totally different experience. I was there for a convention and stayed at the renowned Manila Hotel, one of country’s top hotels. I didn’t get an opportunity to explore much of the city so I was looking forward to this visit.
This time, I stayed in a newly constructed high-rise condo overlooking a golf course in Mandaluyong, a city in the Metro Manila area. It was a great location – albeit a very busy area. There…
